Hello!
I was always jealous when bloggers had brown accessories to wear with their outfits: brown belt, brown shoes, and a brown bag. I just wasn't lucky back then, but now I have a few brown belts, one pair of brown shoes, and one brown purse. And just in time for Spring! Now that I have the whole set, I couldn't help but wear them all together. I found this vintage Coach bag at my trip to the flea market a few weeks ago. My Marc Jacobs bag needed a rest. I've been wearing it everyday since I got it in September. I do miss how roomy and slouchy it is though. This Coach bag doesn't fit my camera so I just might have to switch back after I get tired of slinging my camera around my neck.

My mom used to have this bag, but in a charcoal grey. It's too bad I came into my style a little too late since she donated it last year. She also donated her Ferragamo bow flats. So sad. My grandma recently passed away. My parents just got back from her funeral in Taiwan and I was looking through the old photos they brought back--my mom was so stylish back then! She always tells me how she used to have something similar to what I wear back in her day and she wasn't lying! She wasn't as cutesy, but I can see the resemblance. I need to raid her closet one day before she donates anymore vintage goods.

PS. I always knew this top would be a good replacement for a plain white t-shirt!

Until next post,
Jasmine

  3. Ah, you're right, brown accessories are perfect, and even better for spring, that you seem to have already there, here is not so warm that I could wear that :|
I take a lot of inspiration from my mom's old pictures too! I think the best vintage pieces come from our family's closets so go raid your mom's soon!

  4. Ooh, you are so cute! I love that you are standing in front of a carousel. There is a super cute carousel in Avignon, and I never think to take pictures in front of it, but you've totally inspired me to do it.

  6. I feel the same way about my mom too! Whenever I see pictures of her back then I can kinda see that my style is becoming a little more like how hers was. And definitely the best vintage goods are the ones from your mom's or dads closet. I know that I've raided them a few times. I love the history attached to them. =)

Adorable outfit! I really love the peter pan collar; it is definitely on my list to find when I go shopping next. =)

  7. I always love you in peter pan tops! This one is just adorable and too easy to pull on instead of that plain white t-shirt (i'm too reliable on mine - i need to invest in a shirt like this one!) :)

and brown acccessories for the win! my mom was pretty stylish in her day as well but she doesn't have much left from those days. I wonder what my kids will think of my current style in the future :P

  8. That is the best belt! I love cute little animal accessories:) And very cool that you found that bag via a flea market. It's nice when you go to those things and find something good.

And I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother's passing. Did you visit her much since she was in Taiwan?

  9. Sorry to hear about your grandma.
I adore looking at old photos of my parents, it's one of my favourite things to do. My parents were teens in the 70s then young adults in the 80s so their style is crazy! so many perms.
I really like this outfit, the brown accessories look lovely and you're right that that top is the perfect finisher rather than a plain white tee. x

  10. This outfit is adorable and so perfectly you!!! I love your turtle belt!!! I am very sorry to hear about your grandma. That kind of thing is really tough. My grandma apparently was a snazzy dresser in her youth. When I started wearing high-waisted skirts and blouses she definitely noticed. Brown is my favourite colour of accessory!

  11. I'm sorry about your grandma, may she rest in peace :) I love brown accessories too, they seem to match everything! Haha my mom is the exact same way, if I see something at the stores that I like, she's all like, Oh I used to have something like that...but then I gave it away. And I'm like, UM hello, didn't you realize you'd have a daughter who could use some of that?! Hahaha! That Coach purse is lovely, what a lucky find at the flea market!

  13. My grandma recently passed away too. I was very upset that I couldn't be there with her during her last days :( I hope your grandma will RIP :)

Did you lose a lot of weight? You look a lot slimmer in this outfit :) And you've been getting lucky with thrifting lately, huh? That Coach purse is soooo divine! The only purses I saw at my usual thrift stores were tacky Guess purses with lots of bling bling, hahaha :D

Have a great weekend, Jasmine :)

  14. I have a brown bag and a brown belt that match my brown oxfords AND my brown clogs. I'm usually not big on matchy matchy accessories, but I can't help feeling put together when I wear the trifecta. Yours is definitely working here.
