Hello!
I'm back with another photo diary of my weekend. I hope you didn't get too hungry looking at these photos, but I don't blame you if you did. It was a pretty delicious 20 hours in San Diego. I drove there right after work Friday night and left when my best friend had to work on Saturday afternoon. We ate at Phil's BBQ on Friday night. For a girl who doesn't really like bbq sauce, I rather enjoyed Phil's and thought it was worth the hour-long wait in line. For brunch on Saturday, we went to Hash House A Go Go--which was a two-hour-wait. I finally got my french toast fix. Thank goodness there were a ton of thrift stores near the restaurant so we went thrifting and I picked up some Spring goodies! It was my first time really thrifting and I found it pretty exhilarating. Well at first it was frustrating because we walked into a few thrift stores, sifted through racks, and didn't walk out with anything, but the last store (Buffalo Exchange) was a goldmine! After brunch, we got cupcakes at Sprinkles, which is such an adorable bakery! Since it was my first time, I got four: Red Velvet, Banana, Milk Chocolate, and Cinnamon Sugar. My favorite is the banana flavored one. I'll have to visit the one in Newport Beach soon. Sorry all the photos I have for the weekend are of food. It was raining on and off while I was in SD so I couldn't take photos of the scenery/visit the beach; and I spent a good part of my Sunday filming my Q&A vlog, watching the Academy Awards, and changing my blog layout. At least they're pictures of good food right?

Stay tuned for my Q&A vlog!

Until next post,

Hello!
Sorry I've been away so long! It has been a hectic week with work, school, errands, and malfunctioning emails. I just got back from spending half of the weekend with my best friend in San Diego. We went thrifting (picked up some goodies), ate good food, got cupcakes, and just had some good girl time. Anyway, on to the important reason why I sped home on the 5-freeway to get this post ready--HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JEN!

It's so surreal that it has been a year since our first dynamic duo post with this same white bow! We've matured so much since then and have formed the most amazing friendship! Ever since I visited her in September, I find myself missing her constantly. She's such a joy to be around. I'm pretty sure we knew each other in our past lives since I feel like I've known her for forever. Why does a whole country have to separate us? Our rooster printed top was my pick, but this mustard yellow skirt was Jen's pick. I have been obsessed with it. When it first came in the mail, I didn't like it since it was as bright as I thought it'd be. But it has really grown on me. I've worn it so many times already and I know I'll be wearing it more. I never wore the primary colors together before, but I love the way this outfit turned out--definitely one of my favorites of 2011 so far! I love how Jen put the bow on her belt! I should do that instead of buying more bow belts.

Until next post,
Jasmine

outfit: cropped tee -- h&m; dress -- victoria secret; shoes -- aldo; bow -- f21

Hello!
Yesterday, I felt like putting on something girly and floral-y. I think it's because subconsciously I wanted to wear my new shoes, even though I told myself I'd save them for Spring. When I saw these shoes at Aldo, "SPRING" screamed in my head with the crochet lace material (this was while Robert were telling my loafers were mom shoes). They look better without tights, but it was chilly and not quite bare-leg weather just yet. I have become obsessed with cropped tops lately. At $7, this super soft and comfy one from H&M will definitely be heavily used when it gets warmer and it didn't put a dent in my bank account (not unless I pick up the other colors hehe). It's just so easy to throw over dresses and skirts. I just might take my scissors and make some of my old striped tees into cropped tops so I can wear them. I'm pretty sure this outfit will be my uniform (sans tights of course) through out Spring, so get ready!

The long weekend has totally thrown me off and this week is really flying by! I almost forgot I had class tonight since I thought today was Tuesday. I have a fun weekend planned so I guess it's good that this week is short! My parents are leaving for vacation for a weeks so it's also my time to play! If only I had enough money to do something crazy...like go to New York for a few days while they're gone. Only in movies right?

Ask me questions here for my future Q&A vlog!

I've been meaning to do a Q&A session since it's been over a year since I started blogging. Kate and Amanda have inspired me to do it vlog style. So now is your chance to ask me your questions about almost anything (Robert, fashion, teaching, food, movies, books, etc)! Ask away in the comments section or email me them at jazzyhwang@gmail.com :) I look forward to chatting with you all soon!

Hello!
I wasn't planning on taking pictures of this outfit, but Robert called me for a spontaneous get-together and I took advantage of having my photographer there to take photos of a weekend outfit. I'll have to think of a complicated way to style it up later...just kidding--I am always simple and casual. Just the way I like it. I would've liked to have worn a white shirt with this outfit, but it's nearing laundry day, so all I have are odd-colored/printed bras left. Being totally serious: Sometimes my bra decides my color combination for the day. A lot of you comment on my knack for mixing colors, but some of the credit probably goes to my odd-colored bras.

I bought this skirt on Friday night when my best friend and I went to a F21 that's as big as most department stores. We usually spend hours in there and annoy the fitting room employees with our multiple trips, but then of course, we also usually spend quite a bit of money there too. The skirt came with a black woven belt, but I knew I wanted to wear it with a red belt because I feel incomplete without a pop of color. I picked up this belt from the Gap outlet with my parents on Saturday. Last but certainly not least, these loafers...Aren't they lovely? My dad used to wear shoes like these when I was a kid. Robert thought I was ridiculous for wanting them and made remarks about his mom having those shoes, but in the end, he warmed up to them. Not that it matters if he likes them or not, I'm hopelessly in love--even if they are a bit tight. I hate how Aldo doesn't carry half sizes because my feet are weirdly sized/always in between sizes, but they should stretch out to be comfortable soon enough. I also walked away with another pair of shoes from Aldo which will have to wait for another post. I'm so happy to have shoes to rotate now. As much as I love my Marais USA flats, they need some rest.

Until next post,
Jasmine

Hello!
Firstly, HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY ROBERT--my one and only honey bear! Thank you for putting up with all my blog talk, my shopping, and for taking my pictures. I love you!

I'm back with another weekend photo diary! The sky was just too gorgeous not to photograph. California weather is so fickle in the winter. Last night it was pouring--sprinkled in with some lightning and thunder; but this morning, I woke up to a beautiful sky. I'm not complaining though. It rained while I was at home and didn't rain while my parents and I were shopping at an outlet yesterday. I bought myself a new cupcake key chain from Coach and a red belt from Gap. I did so much shopping this week. I'm always at one extreme or another when it comes to shopping: I either do it a lot or none at all. Looks like I'll have to be at the other extreme for a while, but I really don't mind. I truly adore e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g I bought recently. My new loafers are one of my top favorites out of all my new favorites. It's a sneak peak for tomorrow's outfit.

So these pictures pretty much sum up my entire weekend: shopping, $1 movie rentals, beautiful sky, bike rides, cute mugs, ridiculous gas prices, and cute boy. I'm so sad that the Borders closest to me is closing. There's another one not too far away that's staying, but this particular one is where I spent most of my time while I was doing my undergrad. Robert and I have so many memories there. The baristas even knew our names and our orders for our drinks. It's so sad to see it go. On a happier note, I lost three more pounds this week--making it seven pounds total since I started three weeks ago! It felt so good having to get smaller sizes while I was shopping.

Tell me about your weekend!

Until next post,
Jasmine

Hello!
Happy Friday/the start of a long weekend! I have Monday off work for once. I have no plans yet, but I'm pretty sure it's going to involve some shopping and fruit smoothies! Robert and I took these photos right after grabbing another round of fruit smoothies yesterday and before we got lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. I'm kinda iffy about the wall since it's an icky shade of yellow.

The graphic tee + floral skirt isn't anything new in the fashion blogosphere, but it's new to me and I looooooove it--therefore, I'll probably wear it to death over Spring and Summer. I just love how colorful and playful the two of the paired together are. But first...I need to get more graphic tees and more floral skirts. I got this top at H&M on Wednesday. I normally go for more cutesy graphic tees, but lately I've been collecting animal things (my turtle belt, my new owl rings, the Dynamic Duo rooster printed top, etc). So while Robert wanted me to get a cutesy graphic tee, I went for this one just to try something new. This horse printed top reminds me of Jen's horse printed vest that she wore in our first Dynamic Duo. I felt so good all through out yesterday in this outfit. I can't wait to remix it some more! I definitely have caught Spring Fever. I obviously don't care that it's been cold lately/I should've listened to my inner voice and layered some cardigans and grabbed a scarf on my way out the door. Sheesh. I'm almost as bad as my students who refuse to wear jackets when they go outside--at least I'm wearing a (thin) cardigan? The sun has decided to go back into hiding again today. Bleh!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Until next post,
Jasmine

Say All I Need

outfit: jacket -- h&m; striped pullover -- uo; dress -- f21; tights -- j crew; flats -- topshop; ring -- charlotte russe

Hello!
It seems as if Mother Nature noticed that SoCal was having a premature Spring and decided to give us a few days of rain, so what better chance to break out my beloved sailor jacket and my rain day default outfit? I woke up yesterday morning knowing that I wanted to wear gray, maroon, and navy together; and that is how this outfit came to be. I almost forgot about this striped pullover. I wish I had discovered it sooner in my closet because I probably would've worn it a lot more now that I'm in my sweater-over-dresses phase. I've been so close to buying a navy/white striped pullover, but I kept telling myself that A) I have enough stripes and B) I probably had one somewhere in my closet, and look--I really do! Robert will probably shake his head in disapproval when he reads this (hi honey!).

Yesterday, Robert and I did some shopping and I scored a chunky knit cardigan from UO for only...$9.99! I didn't believe that was the price tag until I was paying for it. I can't wait to wear it! Actually I couldn't wait to wear it...I wore it to class after work yesterday. It was too cozy to pass up after a long day at work and a long three hour class ahead. I also picked up a graphic tee from H&M that's pretty different from what I normally wear, so it'll be interesting to see how I end up styling that. I had a $5 off gift card and insisted that I find something to spend it on. Robert tried to use his "well you'd be saving money if you didn't buy anything at all" logic, but...a girl wants what a girl wants--and I wanted new clothes yesterday. We also enjoyed some yummy fruit smoothies. He was craving ice cream, but smoothies is a healthier option. Jamba Juice has been my obsession lately. I think in the past week or so, I've had it at least four times and it's always the same--Caribbean Passion with a boost of immunity! Robert tried the February special Sweetheart smoothie which was also delicious! I think I'll get some later today...!

Until next post,
Jasmine
