Hello!
I had the greatest craving for nail polish last week. With Spring on my mind, I went for a mint green and a barbie pink and wore them both. Robert hates them, but I smile every time I look at my nails. I didn't realize this green/pink combo continued onto my outfit until I was driving to meet up with Robert. It's officially Spring, but for once in Cali, it looks more like Winter with all the rain we've been getting lately. Over the weekend, I played dress up in my closet and have Spring outfits planned out but it just doesn't seem right to wear such outfits on a cloudy day. Thankfully I still have outfits to post from last week. This is what I ended up wearing on actual St. Patty's day. Robert and I went to the Anti-Mall again to try my luck at thrifting, but I walked away with nothing. I think I'm learning that it's perfectly fine to walk away from shopping with nothing, instead of being disappointed. It just means I'll find something better next time!

Since I started my weight loss journey in February, I officially hit the 10-pound milestone yesterday. It was so exciting! That's probably what sparked my playing dress up in my closet. I'm so proud of myself--I didn't go reward myself with fast food but with shopping in my closet. All my clothes fit so much better; some are even too big. Even when I go shopping, I need to grab a size smaller. Some of you have noticed and I thank you for that. I'm really not doing anything special: just eating right and exercising a bit everyday, even if it's just walking. I've tried so many times before to lose weight, but I think what makes this time different is that I really want this. I have become obsessed with it--over what I eat, making sure I exercise, etc. It's important though not to completely rule out your cravings/favorite foods. I still let myself eat chips and fast food sometimes, but in moderation and I still try to find the healthiest option when doing so (ie. veggie chips and snack wraps). Every meal, every day counts--that's what I keep telling myself. If I cave in and binge on something I shouldn't have and feel like crap after, I just let it go and resolve to eat healthy on my next meal. It's not worth beating yourself over or giving up. It's nothing an extra bike ride or walk won't fix. I hope this helps some of you out. I still have a long way to go, but I'm not looking back, only forward.

Until next post,
Jasmine

  1. AW! Yay, Jasmine!!!!! Congrats. I thought I might have noticed recently, but I wasn't sure :) You look gorgeous and you make me want to go out and exercise! (I typically opt for the eat healthyish regime and no exercise)

You are glowing in these pictures, regardless of the cloudy day:)

  2. Congrats on reaching the 10-pound milestone!!! You seriously inspire me with the way you are so dedicated to your goal to eat healthier and exercise more. It's so hard for me to stick to any kind of goal without being lazy or forgetful. You definitely have the right mindset! :)

I love when you take pictures here since all the oranges, yellows, and beiges add a bit of color to the backdrop. And that picture of you with your nails and your claws makes me want to hug you!!

I won't have a chance to pick up my mail today (stupid classes) but I will tomorrow before I head off to work!!! <3

  3. I love your nail polish! If I paint my nails like that my boyfriend wouldn't like it either but I don't care. And the matching outfit is so cute!
Also congrats on the weight loss :)

  5. How cute and beautiful you are and always have been! These pictures are so adorable with the jugs of water behind you and that wonderful quote from Twyla Tharp. It reminds me of how much I have in my life right now and how much more I need to take advantage of what I have.

Big congratulations, not to losing weight, but to just feeling good about yourself and eating healthy and living healthy. God knows, I need to follow in your footsteps and be better to my body.

    Love,
    Jenny

  7. Aw, how sweet! It's always fun to reward yourself with a trip inside your own closet. I think sometimes we obsess over rewarding ourselves with new clothes that sometimes we forget that the clothes we already have may have been rewards at some point and are still extra special!

  9. I've always loooved green and pink together! It has the perfect dose of girlishness + stylishness. So I totally adore this look, especially your cute nails! But yeah, boys don't particularly like "adventurous" nail colors. Lol.

I agree with you on the shopping thing. No reason to feel bad about walking away with nothing! In fact it's quite liberating sometimes. (Wow we must be growing up, haha.) Congrats on the progress on your weight loss Jasmine! <3

  10. I -love- the pink in your outfit! Makes everything pop nicely. I've also gotten into a nail lacquer craze too. After my polish chips off I'm going to paint my nails lilac or mint green.

  11. You look great, Jasmine! 10lbs is a lot of weight, so congrats! You deserve a little shopping trip, for sure ;)

I love this location for a photoshoot. And your outfit is just as cheery as the backdrop :) I'm gonna try painting my nails in different colors too. Hopefully my bosses won't notice :p
