Dynamic Duo Heads to the Beach
Hello!
Welcome back to another segment of Dynamic Duo. When I asked for suggestions last time, a lot of you thought we should style actual clothing rather than just accessories. It took us a while to decide which items to get because our list was forever-growing, we finally decided on a bird-printed tank top and a skirt. Sadly, I was too late in ordering the tank top, so I bought Jen and I this dress. You all are gonna looooove the skirt we chose though!
For my new readers, Dynamic Duo started when Jen won my first giveaway. I had bought a pair of bows and since I didn't need both, I decided to hold a giveaway. When she won, I asked her if she wanted to style it together similar to the Delightful Dozen idea, but it'd just be the two of us. It's been such a fun journey and I love how we've moved onto real clothes instead. We're already beginning to start looking for our sixth item to style. If you have any ideas please copy me the link in the comment section!
Since we already do similar poses (and color schemes), we wanted to take Dynamic Duo one step further by making one whole picture together. We got this idea from this cute Youtube video by Wong Fu Production, "Together at Last." We came up with some poses and a location--this time the beach. My photos were taken at Santa Monica Pier on my first day of summer, hence why I couldn't show you the photos at the time.
I apologize for peek-a-boo shorts again. I hadn't found my pair of biker shorts yet when I took these photos, but I knew it'd be windy at the beach so...at least my shorts match my dress! Jen was so smart to wear a longer dress underneath! I'm so relieved to finally debut this dress because now I can wear it more often! I wore this dress a couple times already but was so bummed that I couldn't show it to you, but now I just hope you don't get sick of it. It's super comfortable, and I'm pretty sure if it had pockets, I'd never take it off.
Until next post,
Jasmine

Sunday Inspiration
I've noticed that in all my Sunday Inspiration posts I pair similar outfits with each other. I don't think I do this intentionally--they just happen to be equal in dimensions. Or maybe it's my inner neat freak acting out. Anyway, I've been falling in love with menswear-inspired looks lately. I am searching for a crisp button-down to pair with everything. I've been in dresses and skirts for so long now that I forgot that I used to hate them. I miss my oxfords but they look weird sans tights so I'll just have to wait until Fall to be reunited them. A pair of red high-waisted shorts (and a skirt) is a must-find this summer to complete the nautical monster that is my closet. And I really want a heart-cut out dress so I can get a heart-shaped tan line.
Until next post,
Jasmine

Best Summer Days
Hello!
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments on my sailor romper. I am most definitely keeping it! I went to exchange it for a smaller size today because the front was a bit ill-fitting, but now that the fit is pretty much perfect, I cannot let it go! I tried it with some skirts as some of you suggested it and I definitely will be wearing it like that soon! And you'll definitely be seeing it with tights in the Fall and Winter.
Today, I just decided to go back to the basics of a plain white tee and a skirt. Some days you just can't be bothered with the complexity of color and print mixing. I had a pretty easy day--made Robert and I lunch, picked up my paycheck, went to the mall to exchange my romper, finally found these biker shorts for $2 at Cotton On, and got some boba. Another great week of summer has come to an end. This is definitely the best summer yet!
Since I'm still getting over the fear of taking photos in public, I take two sets of photos--one in my backyard just in case, and one in another location. Today I ventured to another lake in my city and I discovered that there is a brand new playground just waiting to be explored! I'm definitely dragging Robert there one day. We're two big kids at heart. This was the lake I used to run around for warm-up when I played for my high school tennis team. I liked both sets of photos so I'm showing you both! Sorry for my peek-a-boo shorts--it's been incredibly windy here in SoCal.
I have work for the next three days, but I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Until next post,
Jasmine

Pocketful of Sunshine
Hello!
I've had a really good and busy week, but I'm grateful that I had a day to myself today. All I did today was go to class in the morning and then take photos in the afternoon. This is definitely one of the best summers yet and it's only just begun! The weather is just so perfect. I really wish I could've gone to the beach today.
Yesterday, I closed a bank account and I discovered I had over $100 still in that account! So naturally, I went shopping with Robert. He sweetly bought me this romper, but I'm still hesitant about keeping it. I just don't know how practical it really is. I love it! I've been searching for a dress just like this for a while, but a romper is the next best thing. I can see myself wearing it with tights in the Fall and Winter, but it's not something I can really wear week to week. That's why I don't usually buy dresses because I like things I can wear more often, but I have been wearing more dresses recently so maybe it'll be the same with rompers. I really wish I could've styled this with a red bow. Anyway, what do you think--Keep it or return it?
Remember the cheap store, Cotton On, I discovered in Santa Monica? The one with the $5 skirts and shoes? Well...it's now in my city! I was super excited and giddy when I saw it. Robert's going to be even more reluctant to take me shopping now. It was when I saw this store that I started questioning whether I wanted to keep the romper or not. One really cute romper...or a couple of skirts and dresses? I wish my closet was bigger, but I think I'm going to clean out my closet soon. One perk of my brother moving out in the Fall is that I can use his closet since his room is right next to mine. I usually donate my old clothes to Good Will, but I'm thinking of starting up a blog shop and if the items don't get bought or swapped within a couple of weeks I'm going to give them away. So hopefully I'll find some time to do that.
Hope everyone is having an amazing summer!
Until next post,
Jasmine

Summer Giveaway
Closed on July 01, 2010 at Midnight PST.
Hello!
I was going to giveaway a bunch of accessories, but when I saw this dress while in the checkout line I knew I had to give this dress away. It's so versatile for any season, especially summer. I think every girl needs to have a tank dress in their closet. It's from Forever 21 and is a size Medium which should fit most body types, but I'll include the receipt just in case and you can exchange it for your size. The necklace was part of my loot that Aimi sent over last month. It's a cuter way to express your love for your mom than tattooing it to your arm.
Rules to Enter Summer Giveaway:
1. Must be a Google Reader Follower or Follow via Blog Lovin'
2. Leave a comment with your email address.
3. Tell me your favorite ice cream flavor.
4. Open internationally!
Additional entries (leave a separate comment for each):
1. Be a fan on Chictopia
2. Blog about this giveaway (copy me the link)
The winner will be chosen randomly via a random number generator. Giveaway will be closed a week from now: Thursday, July 01, 2010 at Midnight PST.
Good luck everyone!
