The Way That I Am

Hello!
So I took a rest from taking outfit photos. Until today, I haven't taken anyway since Wednesday. I spent my days off in denim leggings and oversized sweaters. It was really refreshing not having to fret over what I'm going to wear or if I had worn it before or if my readers would like it. I'd like to transfer this carefree feeling to every morning when I get dressed, even on blog post mornings. I'm so over worrying about statistics. I'm blogging because I like it: I love the girls I've had a chance to meet, and I love documenting my style and watching it evolve. It feels good to be back in this mindset.

This morning while getting dressed, my blog didn't even come to mind. I bought this dress a while ago but it's finally down in the 60's and cold enough to wear a long-sleeve dress. I don't like that it's long-sleeved. I think I'm gonna hack off part of the sleeves to make it short-sleeved--it'd be more versatile that way. What do you think? I knew when I bought this dress that I wanted to pair it with something red. I love the peter pan collar--who knew I could find something so cute at F21?

This weekend I started working on one of my New Year's resolutions of getting healthy. I've started taking vitamins everyday, biking about a mile in the mornings, sleeping/waking earlier, and eating more fruits and veggies. My body already feels better so I hope I can continue this. I also put myself on an indefinite shopping ban. Like this dress, I have some things that I haven't even worn yet since I keep getting new things. I seriously have more than enough clothes.

Until next post,
Jasmine

  1. Hmm, I like long sleeves but I guess short sleeves are much more versatile! You're looking cute as always.

  2. I'm so glad you're on the right track again with everything! It's always nice having a routine to follow as well. :)

And I say you should take outfit photos when you're in your denim leggings and oversized sweaters because I'm sure you still look adorable. Speaking of which, maybe I should take picture of myself in my casual outfits. I always neglect them :P

AND I LOVE THIS DRESS WITH THE PETER PAN COLLAR! I can't wait to get our Dynamic Duo items. <3

  3. Weee I super love this dress Jasmine! I wish I'd find something as lovely at our F21 here. (: hmm, I kind of like it with the long sleeves though! But I suppose during spring/summer it'd be more wearable with short sleeves. Maybe you can put off the hacking until then? (:

Glad to know you're being positive about your blog again! <3

  5. I saw this and immediately thought it had to be Urban- I'm so surprised that it's Forever21!!! I LOVE it. I think those are the best kinds of days. When you put something on that YOU love and don't think about how it'll look on the blog. It's a tricky thing!

  10. Way to go Jasmine!! Biking a mile everyday is going to make a huge difference in your health and well being. You're so lucky to live somewhere with such pleasant weather to bike.

And this dress is so cute on you! I do agree that shorter sleeves will work better though. That way you can wear in the spring without a problem.

  11. Such an adorable dress, the stripes and peter pan collar, it's all so perfect together with the red tights. I know what you mean about stressing in the morning, I get into ruts and feel like that quite often but I honestly love every outfit you post so you've no worries there!

  15. I love long sleeved dresses so I'm suspicious to talk, but I think that this is great like this. You look great, like you always do.

I read your blog for a while now, though I think I never commented, but I truly find you an inspiration! I just wanted you to know.

  17. I have the same goals as you. I've started just this month and am taking it all a day at a time.
Life is hard but it's getting easier and I'm loving myself more for it.

    Good luck, Jasmine!

  18. Yummy tights! They go so well with the striped dress. If it was me, I would just wear black tights (boring!) with the dress. But you took it to the next level of cuteness and worked those red tights like nobody's business. Yay! :D
