outfit: striped top and tights -- j crew; grey dress and bow -- f21; wedges -- uo; belt -- topshop
Hello!
This outfit was inspired by two of my favorite bloggers--Amanda and Jen. Normally, I'm not one to be inspired to dress a different way or try a new look. I just read blogs and think "That's a really great outfit, but I don't think I'd ever really wear that." I just march to the beat of my own drum, but...when Amanda posted this look a few days ago, I immediately wanted to recreate the look with a striped dress and a solid tank dress. That's really the whole point of inspiration isn't it--to take something sensational and make it your own. Jen already got me into buying maroon tights, but when I saw these wedges at UO, I thought of her. They're a hybrid of her Seychelle wedges and UO olive heels. These are now my second pair of heels and they were only $10! I think I've seen the light in what heels can do for your legs. Who knows--maybe now I'll be open to boots too?
So this is it...the last outfit of 2010! I can't believe this year is over: so much has happened this year. I'm kinda sad to see it go, but I love the idea of starting fresh tomorrow. Here are my resolutions for the new year:
1. Eat and be healthier--while this may result in weight loss, it isn't the objective. I've been getting sick way too often now so I really just need to start taking care of myself.
2. Apply to grad school--which includes preparing for and taking the CBEST and CSET exams in the Spring and Summer.
3. Save more money--invest in timeless pieces and quality items, and utilize what I already own.
4. Go to NJ/NYC in September--I miss Jen and all the other bloggers.
5. Spend less time on the internet--do other things like reading and getting back into photography.
What are your resolutions for 2011?
Until next post,
Jasmine

YES, JASMINE! COME BACK IN SEPTEMBER! We can run into each other in the subway again, haha. :)
ReplyDeleteI lovelovelove your outfit! Those tights and wedges complement the neutral dress and top so nicely.
I hope you have an amazing New Years Eve/Day! ♥
Happy New Year, Jazzy! Lovely to see you in heels!
ReplyDeleteMwah!
Aw, thanks lady! Ah, layering shirts and dresses makes me so happy...probably more than is normal. Hehe! And yay for maroon tights! I have a pair and I wear them allll the time. Such a pretty color.
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your resolutions. I don't know if you do or not, but you should take a multivitamin if you get sick a lot. I worked with kids last year and got sick ALL THE TIME and once I started taking a multivitamin, I stopped. It was a miracle of sorts.
xx Happy new year girl!
Cute outfit, love the shoes! I stopped making resolutions after years of feeling horrible for not keeping them. I'm more of a fix the problem as it comes up type of person! =)
ReplyDeleteYour resolutions are AWESOME, as with this friggin' adorable outfit. I absolutely love those wedges and those tights :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you can follow through with all your resolutions, stay strong! <3 Have a lovely New Year Jazzy!
very cute tights! i love the color maroon! =D
ReplyDeleteas for resolutions, i'm with you on numbers 1, 3 and 5. although i really do need to lose some weight. and to add to that. i hope to take more pictures with this old vintage camera that has been just sitting there. i plan on buying a flash to go along with it and learn how to take proper pictures with it. also another is to find a proper job and do well in all my classes this semester, which will be killer because i'm taking two of the capstone classes, which are basically the very last classes to take with my major and they are supposed to be super hard and i'm taking two since there's one for my major and one for the business college, blahh. good luck to us both as well as everyone else!
Happy New Year Jasmine! Your outfit looks amazing, I love how you reinterpreted Amanda's look! Good luck on all your resolutions! I think having them on the blog is helpful because you can always look back and see what you set yourself up for if you ever forget. I think I have like one main goal for 2011: get my driver's license. Sadly that's been my goal for the last...3 years?
ReplyDeleteyou. look. gorgeous. i love the tank dress over the striped top! and ahhh, those wedges really are the bomb! it's like my heels and wedges had a baby and you adopted it (that sounds kinda creepy now that i think about it...).
ReplyDeleteyou better get your ass to nj/nyc in september!!! <3
happy new year!!
Happy New Year Jasmine! You look simple, yet undoubtedly chic, which I find myself not being able to pull off :)
ReplyDeleteMy resolutions? 1. Cut procrastination by 90% 2. Pass my auditions and get into the college of my dreams 3. Toss away my point and shoot camera for a Canon or Nikon high quality one that bloggers use!
Boots are the best! I can't stop wearing them in fact! And I love this new outfit and all the subtle ways that your style has evolved over this past year. I think the jumper over the stripes is adorable and so are the green wedges! Nice score.
