Hello!
Tonight I'm starting a humongous purging project of my room. Recently, I've been attracted to a minimalistic lifestyle and living spaces. Only having what you need just seems so...free because you're not surrounded by things you once desperately wanted but is now stuffed away into a random corner or drawer. A lot of my old toys and stuffed animals are going to be donated to my classroom, but most things will probably just be thrown away. I have so much junk. I'm surprised none of my friends have suggested me to be apart of the show "Hoarders." On the right side of my room, I have all my beloved books from Elementary school and beyond. On the left holds all my clothes. And everything in between is everything else that holds a memory, like letters, photos, and random gadgets. Most of my books will probably be packed away until I own a house and can finally have my dream library (just like in Beauty and the Beast). I think transitioning my closet to become minimalistic will be the hardest part, so I'm saving that for last. I already have a feeling this is going to take a long time or will never get finished, but here's hoping.

Until next post,
Jasmine

  1. Okay, so I just need to gush about this. Whenever I talk about my future house, I ALWAYS mention having a huge library room, with books lining the walls, and a ladder that you can slide back and forth on! Also, I've been trying to clear my room out as well. I just recently moved all my sentimental things from scattered all over my dresser to their own little box in my closet.
And your outfit is lovely! That bow skirt is adorable, and you are rocking those heels :)

  2. Cute outfit, I love how the red tights look with that dress! Good luck with cleaning your room, I seriously need to clean mine. It's like some kind of disaster zone.

  3. Don't feel alone. I tend to keep things from my youth such as books, trinkets, and just random stuff. It doesn't really burden me though, because it's all in my parents attic;) hehe..

You are looking quite adorable in your bow skirt. That is the cutest print! Good luck with your purge:)

  4. ♥ bow print skirt and necklace together :)

Talk about hoarding. I've got so many trinkets crowding my living space (tons of books and what 's with all those candle holders when all I ever burn are tealights?!). The biggest bin day was the cupboard under our stairs though. Lots of things that "will come in handy one day". :D

Minimalist is great but don't purge too much either or you'll find yourself stocking up again quickly. I look at my new found space and right after thinking "yay! Freedom from clutter" I think.. I'd love a litho dollhouse. I really, really want one.. I know. I am a lost cause ;)

  6. I think that your purging project is such a great idea. I am guilty of owning way too many "things". I've recently began to mainstream my wardrobe, but haven't found any success so far. Wishing you a hopeful voyage to the land of minimalism.. heheh...

By the way, I love the bold colored tights you decided to pair with the outfit. oooo and YAY for heels.. you look great in them Jasmine!

    xx Love & Aloha

  7. I've been doing some serious closet purging recently, and I think a minimalist closet will actually engender cuter outfits! I get so bogged down by all the crap I forget what outfits are truly "me" sometimes, if that makes sense... New layout = cute. You should come do mine! I get so bored with it, and I like the minimalist (haha) layout you have.

  8. That scene from Beauty and the Beast always gives me the chills! Ahh. <3

Good luck with the purging, Jasmine! I've never been good at this myself (simply can't let some things go!) but maybe if I see you do it, I'd get inspired to try again! Haha.

  9. Your legs look KILLAH in those heels :D

I'm totally with you on the minimalist lifestyle thing. Every time I have to pack to go home for vacation I get super stressed out, and it's because that's when the sheer amount of stuff I have can total swallow me up. And when I do go home, I ALWAYS get rid of massive amounts of stuff, and yet I always feel like I still have too much! It's definitely a work in progress though. This semester, I'm cutting my wardrobe in half.

  10. I hope it's not too late to ask you to take before and after pictures! If so, I better be seeing some after pictures of your newly organized room. :)

I haven't worn our DD skirt in so long...maybe it's because of the weather though......

p.s. i love the red tights!

  11. I'm starting a big home project too! My condo is a mess, it looks like a student is living in there. I'm going to re-paint, sell/donate my old furniture and replace them with new ones! So... good luck to both of us :)

I saw that skirt at ZARA back then and it totally remind me of you. I was tempted to buy it but I wouldn't be able to pull it off as well as you. Now I can just admire how you style it differently :)
