Empty Streets

Photobucket

Hello!
We took these photos right before work, like right before I got in the car to drive to work, hence the pretty view of my neighbor's houses and cars. I am back in tights and it feels so good! Now that it's been raining, it's starting to feel and look like Fall around here. Leaves are littering the streets now, and greens are slowly turning more and more yellow. I can't wait until it gets a littler colder when I can bring out my beanies and scarves again. I think I can be a Fall person after all!

I went shopping this weekend, finally. It felt so liberating! I took my best friend to Zara for the first time and found this amazing belt. For some reason, it reminds me of Power Rangers. I must be hanging around kids too long since I almost want to grab the buckle and shout "It's morphin' time." It's definitely a nice change from my usual bow belts. In fact I'm not even wearing a single bow today, which is strange because last night I made a massive order of bows on Etsy. I don't know what prompted me to do that especially since I have a great collection of bows already. I think it was because I was browsing through Bonnie's blog, Flashes of Style, and I realized I didn't have a good white bow so I immediately went to Etsy to find one and I ended up purchasing 5 bows. I can't wait to get them! This is my new skirt from Gap that I got a few weeks ago. I can't believe this is my first striped skirt. You'll definitely be seeing this skirt and my new belt a bunch from now on.

I have been contemplating the future of Transient Withdrawal these past few days. After the Chictopia 10 conference, I know I didn't want to brand myself. I don't need a third job right now, but where do I go from here? I'm really not sure my style can develop anymore, and I'm not really sure I want it to develop anymore. I know what I like, and I know what looks good on me. Despite my current attempt to stay away from stripes, I know I'll always go back to it. It's just what I'm most comfortable in, and I think it's what I look best in. I also know I won't stray much from my current outfits. Do I continue with this blog even though it has fulfilled one of its purposes of helping me find my style? I have made so many amazing friends through this blog, but I know these friendships will continue whether I upkeep this blog or not. Don't get me wrong, I love this blog and I am thrilled that it's getting bigger. I just don't know where to go from here. For some reason, the quote "With great power comes great responsibility" from Spider Man popped into my head (I really am spending too much time with kids...). No matter how cheesy that quote is, it has some truth in it: With my blog getting bigger and bigger, I want to be going in a good direction because more people will be reading it. I'm just not sure which way that direction is...

Until next post,
Jasmine

  1. I know what you mean Jazzy! I mean my blog obviously hasn't grown as much as you (Majorly lacking dedication and skill here), but yours has literally grown exponentially, it takes awhile to sort everything out though. Sit down and think about. Actually make a little mind map :)

I'm loving this outfit and all the little details, I didn't even notice the top was lace until the macro shot. The belt is absolutely lovely, power ranger-esque indeed, but very chic <3!

  5. I love this romantic casual look. The light gray and white look so good together. And that retro baby blue car behind you is SO CUTE!!!

RE: your blog, I say just go with the flow. Don't worry too much about "branding" it because you're just going to add unnecessary pressures in your already hectic schedule. I think a blog is more genuine and interesting when the owner doesn't try hard to brand/advertise it. You have your signature look and your own style of writing. These are what going to make your blog successful (and it already is!) So keep doing what you're doing! Also, with your two real jobs and school, you have far better things to worry about than just the blog. I mean, I love my blog, but I'm not going to let it dictate my life ;)

Anyway, that's just my opinion :)

  6. Very cute outfit! I like the lace!

And about your blog. I say just go with however you feel. Don't feel like you need to keep this blog just because you feel pressured to. Keep it because you want to. A blog is here for people to do whatever they want to it so you can put whatever you want whether that be showing off your styles or not.

I suggest not stressing over it too much. I honestly don't think its worth it. I hope you figure things out soon!

  7. I'm loving all the heather gray, and that skirt is adorable! It's entirely up to you as to what direction you want to take your blog, but I think style is always developing! Even if your style is pretty much set, it's open to change through remixing the same pieces or buying one new item and adding it to your wardrobe. Haha never say never to change! I'm so glad you've been able to find your style through blogging; I feel like I'm always changing because I can't settle on one thing :P If you want to change, just go in a direction that you feel comfortable with and stay true to yourself!

  9. you have no idea how much i adore this outfit! i'm loving all the gray, white, and blue colors mixed together with a touch of gold! i noticed you weren't wearing a bow too, haha. i guess you replaced it with a heart! :P

i can't wait to see all the bows you bought. and definitely take the time to sit down and think through where you want this blog to go. i'm kind of in the same conflict. sometimes i sit down in front of my blog and just wonder what would happen if i just stopped blogging. i'd have a lot more free time, obviously, haha, but i feel like i'd lose such a big part of myself. my blog helped me find a part of who i am. :) i can't wait to see what direction you take your blog in no matter what direction you choose. <3

  11. I agree with you. You should try to find a focus for your blog and move it towards that direction. That way you won't quit when it becomes too much or too confusing. We don't want you to quit!

I love the lace top and that heart belt. So cute.

  12. You know, I always enjoy your bright outfits (especially nautical ones!) but I gotta say you look even more amazing in neutral hues. I love this "toned-down" outfit. It's classy and oh-so-chic, without losing its adorability factor. (:
