Change is Inevitable

Photobucket

Hello!
Our Fall weather has seemed to have left us for good. It's almost 90-degrees out today and it looks like this type of weather will continue through out the week. I have no idea what motivated me to wear a long-sleeve pullover in this heat. How am I supposed to study for my midterms when it feels like Summer outside?

I'm sorry that some of the photos are blurry. I can't stand blurry photos. Something is up with my camera and I need to figure out what it is. I think it's because Robert set the f-value way too low. But anyway, this is my new skirt! It's the same one as my green one, but now I have it in peach! I love the color. I think it satiated my Spring/Summer cravings for pastel because now I'm obsessing over all things navy and maroon. Or maybe I'm just craving for a "real" Fall.

In my Fall giveaway (enter now if you haven't already), I asked you to tell me the things you loved about and/or the things I need to work on my blog. Some of you said I should try different looks. I knew that was coming and I actually agree; yet it still didn't stop me from going into a frenzy of self-doubt. While shopping today, I even considered buying a pair of jeans (I don't own any FYI), but then I realized that I would just be buying it to please someone else and not myself. I also realized that if my style was going to change, it would happen gradually and naturally. I mean just look at how much my style has grown since I first began blogging. While I don't really want my style to change, change is inevitable. I shouldn't fight it, nor should I force it. And so with my inner turmoil resolved, I happily walked away with two cardigans ($11 each!!!) and two v-neck t-shirts ($3 each!!!) from Gap. I really hate taking on the "take it or leave it" attitude, but sometimes you just have to be a little selfish.

  2. THAT IS THE BEST-EST SKIRT COLOUR EVER. Actually. I'm in love. I want one myself now. What deals you snagged there, I'm banning myself from any shopping for the rest of this month. It's brutal since there are all these sales going on right now. :( Everybody's style changes a little bit as time progresses... mine definitely has. I think my blog would be the perfect example actually, it's kind of funny. I guess it comes with maturity and aging (gosh I sound like a granny).

Have a nice day at work <3!

  4. Both skirts look great, but I think I like the peach on your a little more. :) It makes your skin tone look a little more tan-ish. I hope the weather starts cooling down for you folks. Seems like you Californians have been battle this heat wave for soo long.

Well, hope you have a wonderful 10.10.10!!!

  11. The colour of that skirt is so lovely and feminine, it looks so fresh with the white too. Don't have a moment of self doubt, your style is so lovely and so what if you have a signature look! You look amazing in that signature look so why rush to change it? Everything develops naturally anyway so as they say, go with the flow. Keep your chin up Jasmine!

  14. Your skirt collection must look so pretty in your closet:) All sorts of colors and patterns. And you wear them very well.

If I were you I would take the constructive criticism and try things out at home. When I try something new I test it out in the privacy of my own home until I feel comfortable enough to head out in the real world. I did that the first time I wore tights under shorts. That took some getting used to for me.

  15. You look SO CUTE in peach and white! I love this!!! I think even this is a deviation for your preferred colour blend of reds and navys. Do what feels right! Don't change for someone else/strangers on the interweb. Progress at your own pace.

Street style is wearing what makes you feel good... not what's trendy. Lydia and I talk a lot about dressing "on trend" and dressing "well." We feel you can dress well on trend but it just takes a lot of money and doesn't really show who you are... so don't cave to any pressure about changing what makes you feel great.

  17. I agree - style evolves naturally and you can't force it even if you wanted to.

I adore this look! The black bow with the peach skirt is so perfect.
