I wore this during the last days of Winter when I wanted to say a little goodbye to sweaters. I'm so happy that it's officially Spring now. The weather has been gorgeous, well more gorgeous than usual here in SoCal. Even though lovely weather is enough to make me happy usually, I've been feeling a little down lately. It just seems like everyone around me is moving forward with their lives, and I'm still waiting, worrying, and wishing. I know I've been so blessed to have been working for a majority of my post-undergrad life, but I want to take the next step in my life. People are starting to hear back from schools and hearing about their acceptances only makes me that much more anxious. This combined with my renewed diet of fruits, veggies, and lean meats has just left me really mopey. Robert has been great in trying to cheer me up with tea and shopping, and in reminding me that I just need to focus on myself and all the wonderful things and people I have in my life. He is right. I hate being that person who resents others for their success, but selfishly, I must admit that I can't stop doing that until I know my own fate. Until then though, I'll continue drowning myself in peach teas and new clothes, which isn't such a horrible thing really.
Until next post,

ReplyDeleteHaving been in your shoes one year ago, I can understand what you mean about feeling like you're stuck waiting while others figure everything out and start moving forward. All I can say is that your time, too, will come. I think distracting yourself with people and things you enjoy on a daily basis is the best way to assuage the anxiety. It worked for me.... most of the time. I wish you luck and send good thoughts your way that everything will work out better than you imagined (and in a timely manner, of course). Just keep smiling.
ReplyDeleteLastly, I adore your skirt.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm currently waiting for some news as well, news that would either make or break my post undergrad life. Hopefully we'll both hear some great news soon :)
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, LOVE your new banner. It's so cheery and girly!:) And hello bow skirt! I haven't seen you in awhile. Love the double-bow action you got going on there ;)

everything you wear is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your outfit, the skirt and belt are perfection. I can empathize fully with how you feel about waiting, worrying, and wishing! I'm also trying to improve my eating habits and it hasn't been making me feel the way I assumed it would, I just feel so lethargic and blah. I'm sure things will work out for you in time, peach tea and new clothes are never bad either.
