Hello!
I'm done with finals and I landed the job so all in all--a very successful week! Somehow in the midst of all the chaos this week, I managed to do a bit of shopping. I guess it was my way of breaking away from studying. Lately, I seem to be drawn towards thing that aren't typical me, like my Swedish Hasbeens x H&M clogs last week. This week showed a similar pattern: I bought...jeans. Jeans! I haven't bought jeans since high school. I forgot how comfortable and easy they are. One of my style resolutions of the New Year was to post an outfit featuring jeans so hopefully that'll happen soon. I need to get over the mindset that I can only post "blog worthy" (whatever that's supposed to mean) outfits here on my blog, because every outfit of mine should be blog worthy. I feel like I've lost partially lost myself in this blog--becoming too stressed over numbers and dressing to impress my readers. I used to be the girl who took 5-minute showers and got ready within 10 minutes, but lately--especially on blogging days, I become so flustered and stressed while getting dress that it sometimes takes me a good half hour to get ready. This week though, I took a step back, and got dressed for me. I really enjoyed that. I hope I can keep it up. Sometimes I think we all forget that blogging is a hobby and shouldn't be taken so seriously all the time.

Like I said, this week I dressed for myself and this outfit was the perfect way to end a hectic week: fuss-free and relaxed. Ever since I started hoarding cropped tops, I've been looking for a cream one. I couldn't resist this one. I just love the material and the asymmetrical cut. It was also the last one in the store and it was in my size. I always take that as a sign of destiny.

I hope you're all having a splendid weekend!

Until next post,
Jasmine

  1. THIS POST IS PERFECT. Every word you said has captured how I've been feeling lately about blogging. Dressing for the blog instead of myself. Numbers. Stats. Ugh. It's stressful! However, I spent the week not taking pictures of my outfits and just dressing how I wanted and it felt SO good. I need to try this outfit sometime. I love the top over the skirt. SO cute.

  2. Your outfits are always so cute!
Love this skirt :), simple outfit but so adorable.

I feel the same way about the stressing what to wear thing, that's why I kinda stepped away from my blog for awhile, among other reasons. Don't let it stress you though, wear what makes you happy :) your followers will still love it!

  6. The day you start caring about what other's think is the day that you lose yourself. I'm glad you're taking the time to step back and do things for you, again. That's what drew me to your blog long ago. Never be something you're not to please others. Changing for someone is fine if you're truly ready for that change.

  11. Aww. We all get caught up in this whole impressing-our-readers thing and it's always good to take a step back - and, as you said, dress for ourselves. (:

I love this easy, breezy look on you dear! The little pockets on your skirt are so cute. Plus I can't wait to see some jeans on here! Woot. :D congrats with finishing finals and landing the job! Cheers. <3
