Buckler S/S 2011 was the first show I attended during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. It was located in a room called the Box, which is a small room where everyone was required to stand (or sit) and watch the small runway show. What I liked about it is that the models pose after the show for everyone to take photos; what I hated about it was getting trampled over while sitting on the floor, but hey, I got a front row view! Aren't the models gorgeous?

This collection is definitely a reflection of how I want all men to dress: casual, classical, seemingly effortless, and well put together. Come on guys--get your act together! Stop it with the baggy pants and the free graphic t-shirts. Alexander Buckler mixed and matched different textures to add interest to such classic pieces, like the look with the mesh top and leather shorts. The collection was very cohesive and was a great start off to my NYFW experience. There are so many more looks but these are my favorite.

How do you think men should dress?

Until next post,
Jasmine

  1. I agree completely! I think there is no excuse for guys to be so lazy- they worry so much about "getting the girl" but what do they expect with baggy clothes and graphic tees?? Hahah. I think if more guys dressed this way, more girls would be flocking to talk to them. Haha. Is it weird that I describe every picture/styling used as "adorable"? because I really think they are!

  3. Haha I do wish guys would dress like this, although I wouldn't mind taking a few of the jackets from this line for myself :) Okay this is hella random, but I saw this guy yesterday who looked like he just stepped off the set of Grease. Seriously, leather jacket, skinny jeans cuffed right above high top Converses, and his hair slicked back 50s styled. That's how I'd like guys to dress like (okay just some because I don't think many people can pull it off). I just totally went off on a tangent. But hope you're having fun in NY!

  5. Oooh, such lovely clothes (and models!). This looks like a great show! I agree that men should dress put together. If girls can do it, so can they. My boyfriend often dresses in track pants and a tee shirt (le sigh) but I would so love to see him in nice fitted trousers and a cardigan with a t shirt or button up underneath!

By the way, it was great to meet you last week! <3

  6. I agree - not too many guys carry about their appearance. I feel like the only men's style out there is more Abercrombie/American Eagle. PASS.

  8. hmmm... eye candies!:D
I love the 2nd outfit the most, the rest is a little bit too jockey for my liking :p

I think a man should also dress to impress (grooming is essential as long as it doesn't turn him into a narcissist!) I don't like the A&F or Polo Ralph Lauren type of guy. I'm much more into Club Monaco urban chic style :)

  9. The second guy's outfit is perfect. Also, oh, my, those are some beautiful men!

I love dudes in geek chic. <3<3<3 I do find, however, that most meticulously dressed men either aren't attracted to women or are extremely high maintenance. I also live in ultra-casual British Columbia, though. I need to get out of here!
