Blame It On the Changes

First, I just want to thank all of you for being so supportive and patient of me in these last few weeks and months as I'm trying to make sense of my life right now, especially with my situation with Robert. It has been rather hard since he left last week. It didn't hit me until recently that I won't be seeing him for four months. Even though we talk daily, I miss him so much that it hurts. It is weird not having him physically around, but the sky is still over my head and the earth is still beneath my feet. I think I needed to realize that my world hasn't fallen apart without him. I'm not necessarily enjoying being without him, and yet, sometimes I feel that it's not so bad after all. I've just been trying to take it day by day. Some days are good and some days are bad, but that's just life right?

I started fieldwork/student teaching on Tuesday and I wore this outfit that day. I saw the school where I'll be for the next eight months and met my mentor teacher for the first time. The school is really big and pretty, and my mentor teacher is just amazing. I'll be co-student teaching with another girl, and she and I have been getting along great so far. I'm just so excited to get this year rolling! I can't wait to meet our students in a few weeks. So far, we've just been preparing the classroom for the year: getting things organized, arranging furniture, etc., but I can already tell that it's going to be a wonderful experience learning from my mentor teacher and working at this school. My classes start next week too so this journey has begun! I bought myself a planner to keep myself organized this year so once I settle into a routine I hope I'll be able to blog more regularly.

Until next post,

  1. LOOK at you looking all grown up!!! Oh, I love this so much! You look so sophisticated and chic! I ADORE that skirt. So pretty on you. I'm so proud of you and how far we've come as well. I know we keep saying that but it's so apparent these days and I think our blogs and style reflects that. Love you so much, Jasmine.

  2. The mint skirt is a beautiful colour on you and your placement for fieldwork/student teaching sounds so exciting! I can't wait to hear more about it and about the new changes in your life– it feels like so much is happening at once and I'm sure you'll come out the other end with such a myriad of experiences (:

  4. Firstly, that outfit is just dandy! I'm really diggin' the easy basics :) And I know it must be difficult without your rock by your side, but your independence as a young gal is just beginning. Hoping for greatness on your new journey!
