Stuck like Glue

Hello!
My cardigans have definitely been on the back burner this Fall. I am in love with the way jackets pull everything so much more together. I feel like a good jacket is harder to find because it has to fit better than a cardigan, which is supposed to be slouchy and relaxed. So when I do find a jacket that fits well and looks good, I become obsessed with it and will wear it a lot (as seen with my military green jacket). I really hope I find another good jacket during Black Friday! I can already tell that this denim jacket is going to make its rounds with everything floral in my closet from here until forever.

Have you read IFB's article on "Why I Hate My Blog?" It is entertainingly true (especially the reason on viewing purchases as potential posts rather than additions to your closet). My blog has been on the back burner lately too, and for that I'm sorry. I've been putting off my graduate school applications for too long now and now I'm cramming in everything to get them done so I don't have to stress about them on Thanksgiving. I put them off for a while because I've just been so content with my life and my job, but I know with graduate school, I can move on to an even better life and a better job. So for the next few weeks, I'll be a little less in the blogging world and more in the real world. With all this stress, I've gained a bit of weight back and I'm finding myself back into square one when I started my weight loss journey back in February. It's been hard finding my footing again and getting back into dieting (especially with the holidays coming up), but I really hate the way I've been feelling about myself and so I'm determined to get back on track.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Until next post,

  1. I agree with your point on how a jacket can pull an outfit together better than a cardigan. I love my one and only denim jacket. I purposely bought 1 size smaller so it still shows off my curves (lol!) The only downside to it is that I can't wear it buttoned up, hahaha..

Anyway, yours looks great and it fits extremely well! I also love the wash, not too dark not too light :) Btw, don't be so hard on yourself about the weight gain. It's getting colder so our bodies are adjusting to the new temperature :) Thanksgiving is next week, right? Just enjoy the rest of the month! :D

  2. Is it bad that I almost bought a children's denim jacket from Old Navy earlier today? Haha, shopaholics unite! :p I love how you styled this outfit, I definitely want a pair of those booties, gimme!

Don't get down on yourself about weight gain, it happens to all of us (including me, please, I just did a post on potato chips... really?). I think the best way to look into dieting is to not think of it as a diet, think of it as a healthy change for yourself and it'll come a lot easier. When you convince yourself you're on a "diet", it makes things way more difficult as you feel more restricted; whereas, when you think of it as a healthy change, you make little changes that will have a positive impact.

Enjoy your weekend Jazzy, remember, I'm always an email away, and good luck with all those applications-- YUCK! xo

  3. Sometimes you need to step away and take care of yourself. Blogging doesn't have to be your life. Sure, you've made friends this way but those friends will be there in your life even if you step away from blogging. Don't let the little things stress you out. Take care of yourself first, Jasmine.

  4. I keep forgetting that there are places that aren't freezing cold like Canada is right now. You look just so cute in that denim jacket and Parisian top! I love your photos, too.

I am in my last year of university and my blog has been boiling away on the back burner for a while. But real life is more important than online life, and as much as I love blogging, school, work, and the people in my daily life have to come first!

I hope you don't disappear for tooooo long. ;)

  10. Just to let you know, I might just have to recreate this outfit because I'm kind of obsessed with it. I'm not even kidding. If only I could steal your shirt for a post. This is why we need to live closer! <3

I also read that article about Why I hate my blog as well and I was shaking my head sadly the entire time. We just have to focus on why we even started blogging in the first place and reasons that make us stay (such as meeting you)! :)

Get those applications done and eat lots of Turkey! <3

  11. I looooove this! I was so obsessed with my jean jacket all spring, summer and fall! I'm such a jacket person. I have two jacket closets, one for heavy jackets and one for light ones! haha.
