Now is the Start

I've worn this outfit twice since I got my new favorite dress. It's so comfortable and the color just screams Fall. The weather is starting to feel more like Fall, and I'm starting to feel more like myself. A Friday night bonfire and a weekend away with good friends were just what I needed. It was good timing too because assignments are starting to pile up. I'm implementing my first lesson next week in the classroom where I'm student teaching. To say that I'm nervous would be an understatement. Sometimes I get pangs of anxiety when I think about having to take over the classroom in January, and then about having my own classroom next Fall. Of course, I'm excited too, but I'm mostly just nervous and scared. For once, I'm more afraid of failure than I am of success. I think it's because this is actually something I care about and have been working towards. Anyone can teach, but not everyone can be a good teacher. If it doesn't work out, I really don't know what I'd do. For once, I don't have a back up plan either. I don't have a foot out the door. I'm all in, and it's scary. But because I'm all in, I can't fail--at least that's what I keep telling myself anyway. I feel like I'm starting to move on and am more focused than ever on things and people that make me happy. I have to remind myself sometimes that I'm only 22 and life is really just beginning. And I must say life is going pretty swell right now.

  1. I love this dress so much - can I steal it already? I can't wait to see it paired with a mustard cardigan and everything else in your closet! And seeing your Topshop belt always makes me smile. :)

Good luck with your first lesson next week! Don't be nervous - I know you'll be amazing. Especially when you take over the classroom in January. My mom was an amazing, incredible teacher and the first week of teaching she threw up before every class. Everyone gets nervous so just breathe! You'll blow them away!

  2. Even though you're obviously further ahead in your goals/ambitions, I feel like you and I are at the same place in life emotionally. UGH. I feel you. Everything is about to happen for us.

Also, sign that we're both growing up? Our fashion choices. I want that dress. No pattern, not trying too hard, but perfect.

  3. you can do it, jaz!!! :D i think you're really just in the right place at the right time! :D

looking great as always... I'm in love with your shoes and bracelets! :D

  4. What a cute dress! I love the color and style, and it'll go well with absolutely everything! Good luck with the lesson, I know you'll do well! I think for teaching, it takes practice and experience to know what works and doesn't works, and what are your strengths and weaknesses with teaching and how you can improve or strengthen yourself on those traits. You'll do great, I know it!

  5. Love the outfit. The color of the dress is so lovely. And just keep reminding yourself that if you work hard you can succeed! I keep telling myself that as I approach going out into the real world in May. :)
