Blessing in Disguise

Hello!
I think red has become my new favorite color to wear. A reader pointed out that I had a red streak last week. It used to be just an accent color through bows or belts, but now I have this red skirt and cardigans to bring more of this wonderful color into my outfits. I am looking for a pair of red mary jane flats. This skirt is my new favorite: the length is perfect for work; it has pockets; and it has wooden buttons. I would've worn it soon after I debuted it on a guest blog post, but one of the kids spilled milk on it and I just did laundry. I wore it as soon as I could though!

Work has left me really sad lately and feeling super inadequate, helpless, and hopeless. Last week was by far the roughest yet and I am dealing with the consequences this week. I find myself telling myself "Maybe tomorrow will be better" a lot recently as I drive away from work. I just don't know if I'm cut out for this career at all, or if I'm just ill-prepared and inexperienced. I wish I had time to do some soul searching but I don't. I'm always rushing off to somewhere to do something for or with someone. I feel like I'm always complaining about work. Let's just get some things straight: I like my job; I enjoy working with children; I am so grateful I have this job; it's just really, really, really hard a lot of the time. With all the things that have come up recently, I can only hope they end up being blessings in disguises.

Until next post,
Jasmine

  2. Aww I hope things work out at work! Especially now, at the end of the semester, it can be difficult to find time to do some soul-searching :( Hang in there Jasmine! If you discover that what you're doing is not what you want to do, it's never too late to opt out of it!

Yay red! I used to love wearing red, especially red tights!

  3. Don't feel bad about complaining. I totally understand where you're coming from..eventually you'll look back and see how much you've learned from these experiences, and I hope you find something that truly fulfils you soon :)

  4. Love, love, love your outfit :)
So brilliant how the yellow of your cardi continues in the light coloured buttons on your skirt. Brilliant :)

Hope things ease up at work soon. Take a deep breath and try not to let past probs (or even blunders I made some of those recently *shudder*) get to you. It 's hard to shake but cut yourself some slack, girl. You are still learning after all! :)

  7. Working with children in super difficult at times (I have an education degree). People don't realize how hard it can be, since most families in America have 2-3 kids. I can't image working at daycare with kids that young. Have you thought about getting a certification for Kindergarten? It's much more structured and they are still young and cute, but a little bit older. Just a thought! Hope it all works out.

  8. Just wondering, why don't you ever show your teeth when you smile? (I don't mean this in a mean way or anything. I'm genuinely curious because I think it would look nice!)

  10. Awww Jasmine, I totally understand how you feel. I often complain about my life (mostly about my job) and how unfair it is. But at the same time, I'm grateful that I still have a job with stable income and a place to live. It's such a contradicting feeling really. Anyway, I hope you'll find the "answer" soon :) Just hang in there, girl!

On a much lighter note, I love this ketchup + mustard color palette! The perfect "colorful" combination for the cold weather :)

  12. I think everyone has those moments when they question whether they're cut out for what they want to do. Writing poetry, I have those moments frequently, but then I'll write something that means a lot to me and everything makes sense again. Things are rough now, and sometimes you're going to question your passions, but it will all work out in the end. You'll get past the doubt and things will get better :)

Anyway, I love this outfit. The red skirt looks so lovely on you, and that mustard cardigan is so cute!
