Hello!
When I wore a similar outfit to my internship the other day, one of the kids told me that I wasn't allowed to wear three necklaces at once. I always wear a camera pendant, but I thought these two necklaces went well together--in an Alice in Wonderland sort-of-way. Who knew even five-year-olds had fashion faux-pas? Speaking of my internship, one of my favorite kids left yesterday. His mom just graduated from medical school and got a job offer up in NorCal. While I am happy for them, I will miss that little guy...I am going to be a nut case when I have to say goodbye to all the kids in June.

After searching for the perfect peachy nail polish, I finally found it at Ulta. They were having a buy one get one free sale, so I gave into my inner child and bought a glitter top coat. I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing this color through out spring/summer.

I usually have so much more to write, but like I said before, my life has gotten so dull and mundane recently...All I did today was run errands for my brother since his high school prom is tomorrow. I made a corsage, a boutonniere, and picked up his suit. Can you believe a corsage alone cost $25?! I thought that was ridiculous so I went to Michael's and made one for a mere $6. I still can't believe he's graduating high school in June...They grow up so fast :'(

Until next post,
Jasmine

PS. I know how much you all love my clock-locket. Stay tuned next week for a chance to win one of your own!

Dynamic Duo: Chapter Three

Hello!
It looks like there's a new dynamic duo in town...Freddy and Louie! About a month ago, I popped my Etsy cherry with this cute little robot-clock necklace. When I received it, I anxiously put it on and went out the door. However, the next time I looked down to check the time, Freddy was missing an arm, so thankfully the seller sent me a new one straight away. I didn't want Freddy to be wasted so I opted to send it over to Jen and proposed we do a...geek-chic sort of look with it being midterms-season for me and finals-season for her. I also sent her other goodies like this striped cardigan because my closet is getting way too crowded...It looks better on her than it did on me!

The same day I found my mom's stash of vintage bags, I also found this cute blouse in the garage! I had to bleach it but I absolutely adore the plaid accents. I'm devastated there's a huge hole in the bottom half, but at least it works being tucked into things. This makes my need for a pair of high-waisted shorts that much greater! Also, I hope you don't mind my wrinkly skirt...I don't own an iron so I tried to straighten it out with the heat from my blow-dryer and it worked for the most part. I am definitely going to start folding my skirts instead of just shoving them into the drawer.

I haven't gotten a pair of real glasses since high school so I used these 3-d glasses. I'm planning on getting a pair of real glasses soon...hopefully Ray-bans! I need to get a good frame now before I move out and have to start paying for my own health insurance. Chances are I won't be able to afford to wear contacts everyday so hopefully I come across a pair of chic glasses. Any suggestions?

I'm so jealous Jen is now done with school, while I have about 3 weeks left...I just really need to push through so if I disappear again that's probably why. I can't wait until summer when I take my last class, which is my first photography class ever, and then I'll finally graduate and start pursuing a career I want.

Until next post,
Jasmine

This is the Countdown

Hello!
The weather has been perfect lately--70s with a slight breeze. That's probably why my outfit is so spring-y today. I hope the weather stays like this for a while because the weather has been pretty bipolar lately. I can't wait to be tan again though! I just really really want summer to be here!

This "belt" is actually a strap to one of my mom's old purses. A few weeks ago I found a vintage Dooney & Bourke in mint condition in her closet--it still has the tag on it! I'm excited to use it during summer when I don't have to carry my life around in my bag. She has a few other old purses that I want to alter over the summer to make them new again.

I don't really have much else to talk about...My life is quite boring nowadays. After this quarter ends though, I'm going to search for a new job because I'm really over my current one. I think I'm gonna put a lot more effort into my blog over the summer. Robert has already agreed to take my some of my photos (no more trash can!) and to take me to better locations, and I think I'm going to invest in a tripod and a remote for when he's not around.

Until next post,
Jasmine

The Little Things

Hello!
I'm starting to feel much better now, physically and emotionally. Robert has taken me shopping and my hair has finally gotten a much needed trim. If there's anything I've learned from playing Bejeweled from the past few days is that...everything will work out in the end no matter which way you decide to go. Play it, and you'll see. I just need to get through the next month of school, particularly my last midterm tomorrow. So here's a quick post before I go bury myself in Cultural Psychology (yuck...).

Sarah from LuShae Jewelry contacted me a few days ago and asked whether I would review a piece from her store so of course I jumped at the chance! I recently stopped wearing my rings because one of them was turning my finger green, and it wasn't a pretty look. When I saw that the jewelry from her store uses better material (ie. white gold, sterling silver, CZ crystals, etc) at reasonable prices, my ring obsession started coming back. I settled upon this simple band because a lot of her rings reminded me of engagement rings and Robert actually picked this one out.

While its shininess was frustrating while I was taking pictures because my reflection kept appearing, I absolutely adore this ring! It is easily now my favorite ring. I really wish I could have the other word-stamped rings so I could stack them together, but one will do for now. I've been wearing it all day and it hasn't turned my finger green at all. The quality is great, and the product looks better in person than it does online. The shipping was incredibly fast. I ordered it May 3rd and it came today! So if you're procrastinating to find a Mother's Day gift or if you just want to buy some non-green-turning jewelry, I urge you to have a look around! Her store is currently offering a 50% off sale on all jewelry and free shipping! Over all, I'd give her jewelry a 8.5/10 for fast shipping, great quality, good packaging, and an accurate translation from online to reality; however, I do wish her products had more range and weren't just geared towards engagements. Thank you Sarah!

DIY: Bow Hair Clips Video

Hi everyone!
Thanks for all the encouragement on my last post. I've decluttered my room a bit and have reacquainted myself with things in my closet that isn't striped. Now, I'm feeling a little better, emotionally. I got called out of work today and I'm so relieved because I've caught a little cold. I think the bipolar weather is to blame.

So, as I was browsing Etsy last night, I almost doubled my bow-collection. I then thought to myself, "If these people can make them, why can't I?" So I googled it, tried it out, and I ended up making 4 bows in less than an hour! I have a feeling that birthday and Christmas ribbons will definitely be put to better use from now on!
