Sunday Inspiration

by the sea sweeney todd film stills Pictures, Images and Photos

With finals looming before me, I'm already making a list of things to do as soon as summer beings (10 more days!!!), including picnicking in a field and riding bikes in a cute sundress. I wish my head wasn't so big so I could buy a boater hat, but I think I'll just stick to bows. I also think that if I'm going to be the queen of stripes I need to go bolder like this red striped AA skirt.

While working on this post, my iTunes shuffled to "By the Sea" of Sweeney Todd and thought it went well with this post. This was one of my favorite scenes because she's basically proposing to him, but as you can see, he doesn't really care. If you haven't seen that movie, you're seriously missing out. I went into that movie not knowing it was a musical and was blown away by Johnny Depp's voice! I love his little romper in this shot too.

Until next post,
Jasmine

On Top of the World

Photobucket

Hello!
I'm getting better at updating more frequently! Woohoo! I am going to enjoy this weekend of bliss before I go into full-study mode for finals next, next week. The ending of this quarter is so bittersweet because it is the end of taking Psychology classes forever, and also the end of my internship at the daycare center. I know there will be other classes that I'll teach (I have decided to pursue both teaching and photography), but these kids will always hold a special place since they are my first. I am already prepping them for our separation since some of them have gotten pretty dependent on me, but seeing their frowning faces just makes me want to stay forever. I'll try to get some pictures on my last day...Oy, I already know I'm going to be crying that day.

Today, when I opened the door to let Robert in, there was a package sitting on my doorstep and, Robert was a little hurt that I was more excited to see the package than I was to see him. But he understands! The package was from my sponsor, Aimi Boutique, and was filled with goodies for me to borrow and some to keep. They were so cute I just had to wear some immediately. Since my outfit was so monochromatic, I decided to layer these two necklaces to give a subtle pop of color. When I saw the little airplane charm, I immediately started singing "Airplanes" in my head. I thought the Symphony Necklace was cute too. I used to play violin and piano when I was a kid, and regret quitting piano now. I have also been wanting bigger bows lately, so I'm so glad I get to keep this one! I can't wait to show you the rest of the goodies she sent over. Also in the letter I learned she is sponsoring Jenn too! Oh the possibilities for the future of Dynamic Duo now... :)

Today, Robert took me to see Sex and the City 2. I just can't get enough of the Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda. I just wish they'd continue the TV series because I know that they'll all be chic grandmas. The second movie was pretty good, not as good as the first or the series. The fashion was so inspirational, but I feel like they tried to put too many elements in the movie that no particular part really developed enough. It's so hard to find good TV nowadays...As much as I am a reality TV junkie, there's only so much drunken fighting and slutty girls I can take.

I'll try to update once or twice before I'm chained to my desk for a week, but no promises. I hope you are all having a lovely week! Tomorrow is the beginning of a long weekend!

Until next post,

Hello!
Two-for-one deals are the best, so here you go! This is my new skirt from Zara! Robert bought it for me because I did well on my midterms (thanks honey!). I can definitely see myself wearing this skirt with anything and everything all year long--with striped tops in the spring/summer and with tights in the fall/winter. I've already worn it twice since I got it on Saturday (hence the two different outfits). There was also a khaki version of this skirt, but as always I chose to get it in blue (pretty much all my skirts are blue except for the floral and teal skirts). It's just so nautical in navy with the rope-like detail that I couldn't resist! I swore that the next skirt I do get cannot be blue...Just watch I'm going to find myself a cute chambray one and continue my blue skirt collection.

Today was such a gorgeous day! Those of you who live in Southern California can agree with me that the weather has been bizarre lately--almost like a prolonged winter here. I do hope the weather stays like this for a while because I hate wearing skirts with such pasty, white legs.

I've had these flats for years, which is why they're so gross. They were $4 at Target back in the day when peep-toes were popular.

It's Raining Cats

In my short blogging life thus far, I've only witnessed two universally obsessed-over items: the Rodarte x Target lace dresses and this cat-printed dress from Zara. When I went to Zara to see what all they hype was about, I personally didn't like it on my body. But if I were to style it, I'd probably wear it tucked into a pair of high-waisted shorts or a skirt because the dropped waist isn't flattering on my body type. I do wish the print came in a top-form though.

How would you style this dress?

Outfit post with the thing I did buy from Zara instead, hopefully tomorrow!

Until next post,

Spring Inspiration Pt. 2

So I was thinking of making these inspiration posts more frequently, at least until my outfit posts become more regular. I think I'll do them on Sundays just so we get some stimulation for the upcoming week. Most of these photos are on my Tumblr, which I have changed from being just a photography portfolio to more of a mood board. I can't figure out how to have two tumblrs under the same email so I'm slowly easing into posting more fashion things because my friends are my followers there. No, I have not told them about this place yet. and I don't plan on it...ever. It's kind of frustrating having to screen what I post there, but until I figure out how to have two tumblrs that's what I'll have to do.

I'm really regretting not getting that sailor dress when I saw it at Forever 21 months ago. It was the last one and it was in my size, and I just chose to go against Fate. Silly me...

Do you have a tumblr? I'd love to follow you!

Until next post,
Jasmine

Time Won't Let Me Go

Hello!
Isn't that note-paper so adorable? It's a cupcake! I got it from Tieka today! I always wanted to wake up to a cute note and some flowers on my dresser. That was one of my favorite scenes in The Notebook--when he used arrows to lead to a cute little art studio. I am guilty of being a hopeless romantic.

I hope everyone had a lovely week. I, for one, am quite grateful it's the weekend. I have nothing due next week, but the last week of the quarter and finals week will be insane. I'm so jealous of all of you who are on summer vacation right now. Usually this jealousy is magnified by the summer weather, but recently the weather here has been pretty bipolar. It makes deciding what to wear even harder because you never really know if it's gonna stay foggy or if it's gonna eventually clear up. And it's supposed to rain over the weekend...blah!

This is the first long necklace I ever bought. Despite it's signs of wear and tear, I don't think I'll ever throw it out. It kinda signifies the beginning of my accessories era...Anyway, remember my silly little story of me wanting to try on a shirt I already had at UO? Well this is that shirt. It's a simple v-neck but with a cute floral print. I wish they had a lighter version so it'd be easier to incorporate into spring/summer outfits, but at least I can wear it all year long--hopefully I won't forget I have it next time...!

I'm so sorry the photos are so dark. I wasn't able to take the photos until after 7:00 when the sun has already left my house. I was able to take some pictures of the flowers that fill my front yard. My dad tends to these flowers as if they were his own children. We get so many compliments on our yellow roses.

Some of you asked for photos of my brother, so here he is in a candid moment. And here is a photo of the corsage and boutonniere I made for him and his date. This post has so many flowers I hope a swarm of bees won't attack your computer screens!

Until next post,
